We are looking for an Office Assistant Intern to join our team // or other words, someone curious and motivated to grow their skills in making our awesome office run smoothly and being a key support for our fantastic team Who are we? We are the DEUS initiative, and we are all about exploring AI in the service of humanity. No, we are not calling ourselves gods(!), but our name is a reference to ‘deus ex machina’ (or god from the machine in Latin). We believe that artificial intelligence technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing will have a massive impact on the way we live — and we want to make sure that we create a positive impact on the world with these AI services. As a happy coincidence, DEUS is also an acronym representing the quadrivium of key disciplines we believe are important to building successful AI-powered services: Data / Engineering / User-experience design / Strategy. DEUS is a new initiative, but the founders have been working together very successfully for years, so there is a comfortable family feel to the company. We have an amazing set of international client partnerships (and projects/challenges). Our headquarters is located in the heart of Amsterdam. We also have a team in Portugal based out of the beautiful city of Porto (with an office close to the beach!), and our Spanish team is based in the charming center of A Coruña. Who are you? - You’ve just finished your higher vocational training of Executive Assistance, Tourism, or related studies. - You’re eligible to do a full-time paid internship for the next 12 months. - You are an outgoing and effective communicator. - You can speak and write in both English and in Spanish. Dutch and/or Portuguese are a plus! - You have a hands-on approach and a proactive attitude. - You have strong organizational skills and great attention to detail. - You are an affable, sociable, and empathetic person, who enjoys working with and for people. - You have some experience - or at least a strong interest- in customer service roles. - You are curious about technology and artificial intelligence. That’s a big plus! We are looking for a real team player! ...and some more points: - You are available to start on September 1st. - You will be the heart of the office, responsible for creating a welcoming space and atmosphere for you and your colleagues. For that reason, we need you working on-site from DEUS’s charming office in the center of A Coruña. Some of the tasks you might be doing in this role: - Acting as the first point of contact for day-to-day office matters and supporting your direct colleagues. - Managing the organization of company meetings, like food, drinks, meeting room setup, etc. - Ensuring good internal communication on office matters. - Supporting the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees. - Managing incoming physical mail (yes, it still exists). - Sending invoices to our finance department. - Assisting our Travel and Events department when needed. - Day to day office maintenance. - Stock supply (groceries, office supplies, hardware ordering etc). Who are you? - You are currently enrolled in a higher vocational education program in DAM, DAW, or a related field, and looking to complete your practicum/internship between September and December 2025. - You are eager to learn, grow, and stay up-to-date with the latest technological trends and advancements. - You have a basic understanding of software testing principles and are eager to apply them in real-world projects. - You are familiar with any programming language and interested in using it for test automation. - You have some exposure to APIs and may have explored tools like Postman or Swagger. - You are curious about or have started exploring automated testing frameworks such as Pytest, Selenium, or Playwright. - You have some experience or awareness of version control systems like Git. - You are organized, pay attention to detail, and enjoy working in a collaborative, cross-functional team. - Bonus points if you’re familiar with CI/CD, Jira, or Agile methodologies or keen to develop your knowledge. Some of the tasks you might be doing in this role: - Assisting in the design and execution of manual and automated test cases. - Supporting QA efforts during development. - Helping define test plans, test data, and bug reports. - Participating in Agile ceremonies and contributing to team discussions. - Learning how to write test scripts. - Collaborating with developers, designers, and product managers to understand project requirements and identify potential quality issues early. - Gaining exposure to CI/CD pipelines, version control, and QA best practices in real-world software development environments. ...and some more points: - Some confidence communicating in English, both in writing and speaking.
